Esfahan Minakari Tour

Overview:

One day tour in Iran – Enamel or Mina-Kari is the art of drawing with  brushes and  fine needles on a metal dish, glass, ceramics, stone, or any other material that will withstand the fusing temperature. Craftsmen of Sasanied era invented this art and Mongols spread it to India and other countries. Only natural-mineral colors and mostly copper are used in Esfahan Minakari industry. Painted dishes must be “baked” so their special colors melt and create a glossy coating which will stick to the surface. Colors are then stable on the dishes for future use.

We provide all the raw materials including a small copper dishes, brushes, special natural-mineral colors and other things that forms the base of your handmade course .Our professional instructor will show you how to make your own Minakari from the first to the last step. Although there are some basic Minakari patterns and color sets, you can make your own design and combine traditional styles with your creativity as well. In the middle of the class, you will taste a traditional Persian drink and enjoy tasty Iranian sweets.

Important Information about this One day tour in Iran (Esfahan)

Note: Minakari is a multistage process, you experience the main stages and other complementary ones will be explained during the course. Once you finish painting, the object needs to go to the oven. It may takes 1 -2 days to prepare and deliver your final Minakari. We suggest you to attend this one day tour in Iran on the first day of your stay in Esfahan. In the case of  unfinished processes, a Minakari made by another person will be given to you.
