Iranian Armenians Stories

In this tour, we will  not only learn about the Iranian Armenians lifestyle but also  get familiar with Georgians who have migrated to Iran from the Safavid era.The majority of Christian communities in Iran are Armenian who moved to this country four hundred years ago during Safavid era. Although many Armenians have converted to Islam over the years, Buin va Miandasht district in west of Isfahan province still has a considerable Armenian community in rural areas. The Armenian cemeteries and villages are among the most spectacular places in this region. Moreover, the peaceful interactions of the various ethnics including Georgians, Armenian, Turk, Lur and Fars people in Buin va Miandasht is a highlight cultural point.

What to Expect

Day 1

• Pick you up from Esfahan
• A 2 hours driving to the west of Isfahan province (Buin va Miandasht region)
• Arriving at your guesthouse  then you take some rest and drink fresh Persian tea
• You will then visit a historical Armenian village called Zarneh and spend some times in its beautiful church and old cemetery
• Getting familiar with the life style of Armenian families in Zarneh village
• After that we will return to the guesthouse so you can enjoy a freshly homemade meal
• Rest and enjoy listening to the live folk music in the courtyard of the guest house
• Free time and sleep

Day 2

• Breakfast
• start a local nature excursion
  
• Visiting Georgian live museum, architecture and handicrafts
• Return to the guesthouse
• Enjoy a freshly cooked meal made out of local and organic ingredients
• Return to Isfahan (hotel drop off)
